The tray icon follows the drive's phase (synced, syncing, paused,
offline, needs attention) and reports NeedsAttention while changes keep
failing. The menu gains an issues item that opens the Sync page, Sign In
when signed out, Hide Tray Icon (persisted as tray_hidden) and Stop
Proton Drive, which pdfs-app confirms via --confirm-stop. A second
pdfs-app launch raises the running window.
Every transfer charges the bytes it moves to its direction's rate limit,
a virtual clock shared by all transfers with a one-second burst, and sleeps
off any overshoot. On runtime workers the sleep goes through block_in_place
so FUSE reads keep their threads.
The caps are set live with SetBandwidthLimits, persisted to config and
applied at mount start. Preferences gains a Network group with debounced
MiB/s editors, and the CLI gains `pdfs sync limit --up/--down`.
The My Files header gets a New menu, a grid/list split button whose menu
sorts by name, size or date (persisted as files_view in the config), and a
folder menu for Build Thumbnails and Open in File Manager. Navigation
keeps a back/forward history (Alt+Left/Right, mouse buttons, Alt+Up).
Move to… browses Drive folders and handles a whole selection, rename
preselects the stem, and files dropped from a file manager upload into
the folder on screen.
Restructure the app shell per docs/UI_UX_PLAN.md phase 1:
- Every destination page gets its own AdwHeaderBar via page_frame(), with
page actions packed into it and a busy spinner beside the title.
- The sidebar is regrouped (files, then a Sync section) with a primary menu
(Preferences, Keyboard Shortcuts, About) and a footer showing sync state,
storage quota and the account with Sign Out.
- The Settings page is gone: startup, folder location, appearance and cache
options move into an AdwPreferencesDialog (Ctrl+,); transfers move to the
Sync page; developer details move into About's debug info.
- Inline CSS moves to a gresource stylesheet using libadwaita colour
variables. The system accent is the default; the Proton purple accent is
an opt-in preference (new `proton_accent` config key, defaults off).
- Add a keyboard shortcuts dialog (Ctrl+?).
libadwaita requirement stays at 1.5, so Ubuntu 24.04 remains supported.
- Durable scratch/staging publication and preservation on failure.
- Transactional pending-operation supersession.
- Conflict copies cannot overwrite older copies or lose the source.
- Single-entry wipe protection and incomplete-scan aborts.
- Failed local deletion retains its baseline.
- Downloads are fsynced before baseline settlement.
- Future database schemas are refused.
- Event cursors advance only after successful invalidation and persistence.
- IPC frame, timeout, and concurrency limits.
- Atomic config saves; malformed configs are preserved.
- Sensitive directories require correct ownership, real directories, and 0700.
- Debian package now includes service and tray autostart files.
- Release workflow enforces versions, tests, lint, formatting, and offline acceptance.
- CI now runs offline filesystem acceptance.
Mirror folders walked and uploaded every path under their root, so syncing a
project directory pushed node_modules/, target/, and .git/ to Drive -- quota
spent on files nobody wants there, and enough API traffic to invite rate
limiting.
Rules come from a .pdfsignore (or .protonignore) at the folder root, unioned
with an ignore_patterns list in config.json that defaults to the usual build,
VCS, and editor-leftover globs. Both are re-read at the start of every pass,
so edits apply without restarting the daemon.
The filter deliberately sits on the classification union in
classification_order(), not on walk_local alone. do_reconcile classifies
local | remote | baseline, so a file synced before a rule started matching it
is absent from local but present in the other two -- the "local deleted,
remote untouched" arm, which calls trash_nodes. Filtering only the walk would
have meant that adding a line to .pdfsignore silently trashed files on Drive
on the next pass. Ignored baseline rows are left in place so un-ignoring
re-adopts the existing remote file instead of re-uploading it.
guard_local_wipe takes a filtered baseline for the same reason: an ignored
path is absent from the walk by rule rather than by loss, and counting those
as missing would trip the guard on every pass once a rule covered the tree,
wedging that folder's sync permanently.

relocate() called forget(), dropping the node's by_uid mapping, so
the re-enumeration assigned a fresh inode. The kernel had already
carried the renamed dentry onto the old one and holds it for the
entry TTL, so lookup/getattr/opendir resolved to an inode entries
no longer held and returned ENOENT — while readdir walked children
and reported the new inode. A renamed directory listed in its
parent but could not be entered until the TTL expired.
Rewrite the node in place and invalidate both parents' listings
instead. Also stops the moved node's DB row being deleted and
recreated on every move, which the B1 data-loss fix worked around
