A two-password account signed in with its login password as the mailbox
password, so the key chain never unlocked and the daemon retried forever.
Login now asks for the mailbox password and checks it against the account
(proton-sdk 0.8 `unlock`), so a typo is a retry. The password is never
stored: the keyring blob keeps the per-key passphrases instead, and for a
two-password account only when the user opts in (`--remember`, or the
"Keep unlocked on this computer" switch). By default they live in the
kernel keyring for the login session and the account is locked after a
reboot until `pdfs unlock` or the app supplies them again.
- core: kernelkey module, Error::Locked / WrongMailboxPassword, unlock,
lock, key_state, ready; blobs written by 3.0.x are migrated on first
start; token refresh updates only the tokens in the stored blob
- cli: `pdfs unlock [--remember]`, `pdfs lock [--forget]`; status and
diagnose report the key state; the daemon waits while locked and is
marked non-dumpable
- gui: mailbox password dialog at sign-in and on open, locked tray state
- po: all catalogs translated
- bump to 3.1.0, depend on proton-sdk and proton-drive-rs 0.8.0
Refs #26.
makepkg reuses a cached source file of the same name, so the unversioned
proton-drive.service from an older build failed the 2.8.2 checksum. Carry
$pkgver in every file fetched from the tagged tree, like LICENSE already
did, and bump pkgrel to 2.
default.target is reached before the desktop exports DISPLAY/WAYLAND_DISPLAY
to the user manager, so After=graphical-session.target never applied. The
daemon's first keyring call D-Bus-activated the Secret Service without a
display; on KDE ksecretd aborted, the first start failed, and every login
left a coredump.
Install into graphical-session.target instead, and use reenable when the
front-ends enable the unit so existing default.target.wants links are
replaced rather than kept alongside the new one.
Fixes#23
73e60f1 pointed url at proton-drive.narl.io, and all three AUR PKGBUILDs
built their source URLs from $url, so the release tarball, the binary
archive and the git clone were fetched from the homepage and 404ed. The
sources now come from a separate _repo on GitHub; url stays the homepage.
The About dialog's website link, the README, and the package metadata
(Cargo, PKGBUILDs, AUR .SRCINFO, .deb, .rpm) now use the project
homepage. Source code, issue, and release links stay on GitHub.
The release job never hit a cache: its rust-cache key contained the job
name, tags cannot restore caches of earlier tags, and rpmbuild rebuilt
the whole workspace under its own compiler flags.
CI on main now saves shared debug and release caches that the release
workflow restores. Quality gates and the package build run in parallel,
and the GitHub release is created once both pass. The RPM spec skips
its cargo build when the caller passes --define "prebuilt 1".
Photos now know where they were taken. proton-drive-rs 0.7.0 reads the
Location from a photo's extended attributes, and the timeline refresh stores
it with the photo (schema v33). The migration marks every photo unresolved
once, so the next refresh backfills locations from node metadata without
downloading anything.
Towns are looked up offline: pdfs-core bundles GeoNames' cities15000 table,
trimmed by scripts/geonames-cities.py, and files each photo under the
nearest town within 50 km. The new PhotoPlaces and PlacePhotos requests list
the towns and page one town's photos.
The Photos page gets a third view, Places, with a card per town (newest
photo, town, country, count). A place opens in the gallery like an album.
Country names come translated from the iso-codes catalogs, now an optional
dependency. The About dialog credits GeoNames (CC BY 4.0).
makepkg --printsrcinfo does not run pkgver(), so the -git .SRCINFO kept
the version from when the package was created and push.sh never had a
change to publish. update.sh now runs makepkg -od --noprepare first so
pkgver() writes the current git describe version into the PKGBUILD.
Videos without a server thumbnail fell through to the local fallback,
which downloaded the whole file, failed to decode it as an image and
wrote the video off for good. Grab one frame with ffmpeg instead, a
second in or from the start for shorter clips. Probe for ffmpeg before
downloading, bound every run, and skip videos over 256 MiB.
Migration V32 gives the videos written off so far another try.
Those videos had no server thumbnail because our uploads never sent one.
Every upload path (bulk upload, drained mount writes, conflict copies,
new revisions and folder sync) now attaches a thumbnail rendered from
the local file, kept under the 60 KiB Proton's own clients use. Files
that are not images or videos, or cannot be decoded, upload bare as
before; a .ts file only counts as video with an MPEG-TS sync byte.
ffmpeg is a new optional dependency in the PKGBUILDs.
A release tag now updates and pushes all three AUR packages once the
GitHub release exists, then commits the refreshed recipes back to main.
A push to main that changes the -git recipe publishes that package
alone; plain upstream commits need no AUR push because its pkgver()
follows git at build time.
Needs the AUR_SSH_PRIVATE_KEY repository secret.
The app, the tray and the search prompt route every user-visible string
through GNU gettext in the `pdfs` text domain, with named placeholders and
plural forms. po/ holds the template, update and build scripts, and catalogs
for de, en_GB, es, fr, it, nl, pl and pt_BR. Preferences gains a Language row
that overrides the system language from the next start (config `language`).
Packages compile the catalogs into /usr/share/locale and the desktop files
carry translated descriptions and keywords. docs/TRANSLATING.md describes
the workflow.
packaging/aur/ now holds the full content of three AUR repositories:
proton-drive-for-linux builds the latest tag from source,
proton-drive-for-linux-git builds main, and proton-drive-for-linux-bin
installs the binaries attached to the GitHub release. Each carries a
PKGBUILD, a generated .SRCINFO, an ignore-everything .gitignore, and the
0BSD license the AUR expects for package sources.
update.sh bumps the release-based packages and regenerates the .SRCINFO
files; push.sh publishes each package to its AUR remote. The README now
points users at the AUR packages and keeps the in-tree PKGBUILD as the
development build.
